Joel's Jottings: "The Time Is Now"

The Building Blocks capital campaign is coming to the close of the active portion of the campaign. You have heard in worship and read in the weekly eNews about this work. Thank you to all who have made a commitment with either a pledge or a gift.

This campaign is both a challenge and an opportunity. It is an opportunity to work together on a significant project that will enhance the ability of Fondren Presbyterian Church to serve as a gathering place for church and community. It is a challenge because the work must be done. Much of the work has been delayed before. There is no benefit to delaying it further. In fact, delay only brings complications and increased cost.

It is not common to conduct capital campaigns when there is a pastoral transition, except when there is a real need. There is a real need now for Fondren Presbyterian Church. If you want to do something that will directly impact your ability as a congregation to call a new pastor, then make a pledge or gift to the capital campaign. Then work done now will let your new pastor partner with you in ministry opportunities for Jesus Christ in Jackson.
