Joel's Jottings: "The Gratitude Tree"
During December it is common to see a variety of trees in unexpected spaces. The Salvation Army has the Angel Tree. Some organizations have a Festival of Trees. These are ways to identify worthy projects and direct resources to them. This is good.
This year Fondren Presbyterian will have a Gratitude Tree. The tree is located in the hallway at the rear of the sanctuary.
You are invited to stop by and express something you are grateful for on a Christmas card that will be located nearby. Then you may place the card—like an ornament—on the tree. You may also bring a card from home and place it on the tree.
By the time this season is complete, our tree hopefully will be full and overflowing with expressions of gratitude from the Fondren Presbyterian community. And may this well of gratitude fuel us into 2023 to share the wonderful Good News of God’s love, mercy, and grace.
