Wednesdays Together Series: Lent
Please join us each Wednesday night in Lent for a simple supper of soup and bread and a 30- to 40-minute study titled "We Might Have Known." Our topic of conversation will investigate Presbyterian understandings and uses of Scripture. Where do our beliefs about the Bible come from?
As always, the Wednesdays Together meals are free, but during Lent, we will receive donations for Together for Hope, a Jackson-based nonprofit that fights poverty in the Delta and other rural areas around the country. Together for Hope's programs assist rural communities with education, health, nutrition, housing, and entrepreneurship, and they advocate for policies that improve the lives of low-income families, including Medicaid expansion. They are led by Rev. Dr. Jason Coker, a friend of Fondren who has served as a guest preacher and speaker at Wednesdays Together. The donations received during Lent will be dedicated to work in the Delta.
Youth Together
This Sunday, Fondren's youth will resume their weekly gatherings! Come hang out together on Sunday mornings for a time of donuts and fellowship, music learning, and Christian formation.
Got questions? Contact Cecelia Stearman at music@fondrenpcusa.org.
The Odyssey Class
This Sunday, the Odyssey Class continues study of N. T. Wright’s Broken Signposts: How Christianity Makes Sense of the World.
In this book Wright relies on the Gospel of John to reveal how Christianity presents a compelling and relevant explanation for our world.
The book is available to purchase on Amazon and other booksellers.
