Wednesdays Together Series: Lent
Please join us each Wednesday night in Lent for a simple supper of soup and bread and a 30- to 40-minute study titled "We Might Have Known." Our topic of conversation will investigate Presbyterian understandings and uses of Scripture. Where do our beliefs about the Bible come from?
As always, the Wednesdays Together meals are free, but during Lent, we will receive donations for Together for Hope, a Jackson-based nonprofit that fights poverty in the Delta and other rural areas around the country. Together for Hope's programs assist rural communities with education, health, nutrition, housing, and entrepreneurship, and they advocate for policies that improve the lives of low-income families, including Medicaid expansion. They are led by Rev. Dr. Jason Coker, a friend of Fondren who has served as a guest preacher and speaker at Wednesdays Together. The donations received during Lent will be dedicated to work in the Delta.

Christmas Cinnamon Roll Bake-Off
You are invited to join member Kathryn McGraw for a Christmas Cinnamon rolls baking session in the Fondren kitchen. Kathryn will prepare the dough and filling, so bring yourself, your own rolling pin, and a good measure of Christmas spirit!
To prepare enough dough and filling, Kathryn will need to know you’re coming, so please RSVP to the church office. Space is limited, so sign up early for this one! Deadline to RSVP: Sunday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m.
Carols for Breakfast
What is Advent without a carol sing?
Arrive at 9:30 a.m. (or come when you can) for a Christmas edition of Coffee & Conversation … with carols! A light breakfast will be provided by the Spiritual Engagement Ministry committee.
Lynn Raley, Fondren’s organist, will lead the singing.
Christmas Sweet Swap
You are invited to bring your favorite Christmas sweets to swap with friends. Call or email the church office or return the participation form in this Sunday's bulletin to let the Spiritual Engagement Committee know you’re going to participate.
Once we know how many people want to participate, we will let you know how many sweets to bring to swap. For example, if 12 people participate in the swap, each person will make 12 pieces—cookies, squares of fudge, etc.—plus extras to share.
Deadline to sign up is Thursday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. You’ll receive an email confirmation with instructions on Friday, December 8.
