Building Blocks: “Renovations Begin!”

Group of men and women sit around tables in a church fellowship hall.

The renovations we’ve all been so eagerly awaiting begin within the NEXT WEEK.

Our Building Committee members—who have been working hard for several years to plan for these much needed renovations—recently met with the architects from Wier Boerner Allin Architecture (WBA), Wade Thompson and Lucas Posey; the contractor, Greg Moore of Beyond Construction Group; and the subcontractors to coordinate the renovation kickoff.

Projects will continue through the rest of the year with an anticipated completion date of Christmas.

A construction zone will be established behind the building. Please do not enter that area.

The first interior project will be the renovation of the restrooms by the parking lot. These facilities will not be available during the month of March. There is a restroom available for use near the office area as well as facilities upstairs. Some wag has said that it looks like we are giving up our restrooms for Lent.

Other work will follow. Some interruptions for classes and groups will occur. We all knew this would happen. But the disruptions are a sign of the progress and the hope we have. These changes will enhance the ability of Fondren Presbyterian Church to use our facility for the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ.

As you come in and out of the church building for the next few months be aware that these things are happening. May this bring hope to your heart.
