Being Together While We’re Apart

Because we all miss our Fondren family, here are our Sequester Stories—a series of stories and photos by Fondren folks sharing what our “pandemic lives” are about.

I have been a bird watcher for a long time. I have paid more attention to the feeder these days since I have a lot more free time. It has been a surprise to see the variety of sizes and colors of these birds. Besides their beauty you also hear a wonderful variety of songs. They have also taught me a lot about their habits. Male cardinals and bluebirds feed their mates. I know I have at least two pairs of bluebirds since I have had two males on the feeder at the same time. Bluebirds usually come to the feeder together. For the first time I have had several white-winged doves. I think they must be lost since they are not listed as being Mississippi birds.

If you have a bird feeder pay more attention to it. There is a big show going on in your yard. If you need a feeder go to “Wild Birds Unlimited." They will have everything you will need.

Thanks to God for all the beauty around us, which we sometimes ignore.
